破折部の幅が0.2mm以上だと根管充填が施されていてもCBCTで破折の診断ができます。

しかし、破折部の幅が0.03～0.1mmの場合にはCBCTでは確認できません。

根管充填の既往のある歯におけるCBCTによる破折の有無の判定は信頼できるとはいえないと述べている論文もあります。

いずれにおいても、CTは垂直歯根破折の判定に非常に有効とされています。

歯周組織の破折防止のためには、口腔内所見やデンタル所見から垂直歯根破折が疑われる場合は、早急にCT撮影を行い、垂直破折の有無を確認することが必要です。
